When we left the forest this spring, two of the cows turned up the next morning walking the fence looking back, with very full “bags”. We turned them out and they walked straight up the road and back through the gates we opened. After a purposeful mile and a half, they both walked right back to their calves. Both of the calves were alive and waiting right where mom had parked them early. The one calf jumped up out of the brush, ran to mom, and rubbed herself under mom’s belly and chest before starting to suck for dinner. It was adorable and amazing to watch. How great is our God, that he not only knows the hairs on our heads, has his eye on the sparrow lest it fall, and also gave the humble cow the instict needed to find their babies. If He can do that for a cow, why oh why, do we doubt His love and care for us?
